APPLICABLE HEAT-RESISTING REFERENCE

EN 10095 · 1.4835 / X9CrNiSiNCe21-11-2

This is a separate heat-resisting steel reference. Its values are not assigned to any of the four standards in the comparison below.

EN 10095:1999; current corrected German adoption DIN EN 10095:2018-12. Heat-resisting wrought steel, including hot-rolled sheet/plate and strip. Separate supplementary reference, outside the EN 10028-7 comparison column.

Cast-analysis limits, mass %. EN 10095:1999 Table 2, corroborated by EN 10088-1:2023 Table 6; these are limits, not typical mill chemistry. EN 10095 clause 7.3 excludes route 1U (hot rolled, without heat treatment or descaling) and semi-finished products from direct Table 6 requirements. When non-heat-treated delivery is agreed, appropriate heat treatment of reference specimens is the basis for demonstrating obtainable properties. Actual surface, heat treatment, testing, dimensions and certificate requirements must be agreed for the offered hot-rolled coil, sheet or plate. Do not infer a supplied condition from the term hot rolled alone. EN 10095 clause 1.6 excludes pressure-purpose specification. Approval under a different design code requires its own material and design basis. The standard thickness ceiling of 75 mm is a mechanical-table scope; it is not a Sheye supply-range promise. Outokumpu nominal chemistry, including approximately C0.09/Cr21/Ni11/Si1.6/N0.17, must remain labelled typical if quoted; it is not substituted for the standard ranges above. Informative Annex B, Table B.1; solution annealing guidance: 1020–1120 °C; Water or sufficiently rapid air cooling. This is EN 10095 guidance. Mill recommendations can differ and are not interchangeable with this range. 1150 °C: Guidance for maximum application temperature in air, not a load-bearing design limit or universal service guarantee. Outokumpu Therma Table 1 identifies the value as EN 10095 guidance for air. Atmosphere, cycling, applied stress, creep life and fabrication must be evaluated for the application. No numerical creep acceptance requirement is asserted here.

1.4835 / X9CrNiSiNCe21-11-2 is an EN 10095 heat-resisting grade. It is absent from the EN 10028-7:2016 austenitic grade list in Table 3; do not put EN 10095 limits into this pressure-purpose comparison row. EN 10088-1:2023 Table 6 lists the grade and chemistry, but Part 1 is a steel catalogue, not a sheet/plate delivery specification. This does not establish coverage by EN 10088-2 or EN 10028-7. Use the complete name X9CrNiSiNCe21-11-2. Shortened trade descriptions omit some characters and are not the full EN designation.

A directly corresponding JIS G4305 grade has not been established from the reviewed primary sources. Do not relabel S30815 as SUS309S, SUS310S or a similarly named SUH grade. JIS G4305 is a cold-rolled standard. JIS G4304 covers hot-rolled stainless flat products and JIS G4312 covers heat-resistant flat products, but the scope of those standards alone does not prove that an S30815 equivalent is included. No JIS chemistry or mechanical values are invented. Any proposed JIS certification requires the exact grade and normative table to be agreed with the mill.

Reference editions & ordering conditions

ASTM A240 covers flat products; EN 10028-7 is for pressure-purpose flat products. JIS G4305 and GB/T 3280 cover cold-rolled flat products. Their cold-rolled values must not be used as acceptance limits for hot-rolled plate, bars or profiles. Confirm the standard edition and all supplementary requirements in the purchase order and mill test certificate.

EN 10028-7 — 2016; current DIN adoption 2016-10, checked 2026-09-09

Chemical values are cast-analysis mass percentages. A dash/omitted element means no limit stated in the selected table, never zero content. Cross-standard grade names are comparison references, not automatic equivalence or proof of Sheye certification.

ASTM A240/A240M — A240/A240M-20a

Chemistry is heat-analysis mass percent. Omitted elements have no requirement in the cited row, not zero. A480/A480M governs product-analysis tolerances and general requirements. Mechanical values use the printed SI column. ASTM regards SI and inch-pound systems as independent: do not convert ksi to generate an SI acceptance limit. Room-temperature Table 2 reference properties. Confirm delivery heat treatment, specimen preparation, dimensional tolerances and all general requirements against the contractual A480/A480M edition. Yield is based on 0.2% offset; a 0.5% total-extension-under-load alternative is permitted unless otherwise specified. Elongation gauge length is 50 mm or 2 in. HBW and the specified Rockwell scale are alternative permissible methods; thin-gauge superficial hardness provisions apply. The full 2026 numerical tables were not available for verification. Display the reference edition and confirm the contractual edition and certificate before accepting an order.

Reference chemistry is heat-analysis mass percent under ASTM A240/A240M-20a Table 1, printed p.3. Ce is an explicit cerium range, not a total rare-earth range. Elements omitted from the row have no listed limit, not a zero-content requirement. S30815 is the ASTM UNS designation; this table does not assign an AISI Type number. Hot-rolled coil, sheet and plate are product forms; annealing, finish, dimensions, test specimens and certification still need to meet the relevant flat-product requirements. The standard table does not establish Sheye's stock or production size range. 253 MA is an Outokumpu trademark associated with this alloy family. A generic S30815 offer does not by itself establish branded Outokumpu material or a particular steelmaker origin. Nominal steelmaker chemistry and a steelmaker's 650–850 MPa tensile range are not the cited ASTM A240 acceptance limits. The cited ASTM row specifies tensile strength of at least 600 MPa. Current official catalogue edition: A240/A240M-26. Its full numerical tables were not available for direct verification; these are explicitly the 20a reference values, not a claim that every limit was reverified against the 2026 edition.

JIS G 4305 — 2021

JSA confirms the 2021 edition remains valid and was reaffirmed on 20 October 2025. Full purchased normative tables and all footnotes were not available for a complete current-edition audit. Listed chemistry is mass percent from primary JIS-grade summaries, not typical mill analysis. Missing cells mean not reproduced or not verified, not zero. Mechanical limits apply to the stated annealed/solution-treated cold-rolled condition at room temperature. Sampling, gauge length, direction, thickness-related rules and acceptance methods require the contractual standard. Corresponding designations are comparisons, not unconditional equivalence or proof that every supplied heat meets all listed standards.

GB/T 3280 — 2015

The original GB/T 3280-2015 Table16 and AnnexA identify 08Cr21Ni11Si2CeN / S30859 as the Chinese comparison to UNS S30815. The name 12Cr21Ni11Si2Ce was not verified and must not be substituted. Chemistry is heat analysis in mass percent. This is a standard reference row, not typical mill chemistry or unconditional cross-standard certification. The Sheye product covered here is hot-rolled coil, sheet or plate. For a Chinese hot-rolled or heat-resisting order, confirm the applicable GB/T 4237 or GB/T 4238 grade, delivery condition and mechanical limits separately. This GB/T 3280 comparison does not provide their hot-rolled acceptance limits.

S30815 product forms & order details

Hot-rolled material for thermal equipment

S30815 is a nitrogen-alloyed, heat-resisting austenitic stainless steel. Sheye Metal welcomes enquiries for hot-rolled coil, sheets cut from coil and plate for fabricated thermal equipment. Start with the component drawing and operating conditions so that the material, delivery condition and processing route can be reviewed together.

For coil orders, specify the required width, coil weight and acceptable inner diameter. For sheet and plate, provide thickness, width, cut length, quantity and any flatness requirement. Available dimensions, surface condition and delivery arrangements are confirmed against each enquiry.

Identify the standard and delivery condition

ASTM A240/A240M and EN 10095 are relevant flat-product references. The EN comparison designation is 1.4835 / X9CrNiSiNCe21-11-2. Specify the standard edition required by your project and request a material certificate that identifies the supplied heat and agreed grade.

Standard composition limits, solution-annealed mechanical requirements and a steelmaker’s typical datasheet values serve different purposes. Typical values are useful for preliminary selection; acceptance requirements belong in the order. Hot rolling alone does not establish the final heat-treatment condition.

Compare S30815 with 310Si2 carefully

S30815 and 310Si2 / 16Cr25Ni20Si2 have different alloy compositions and specification routes. They should be compared against the actual component duty rather than treated as interchangeable names.

Include the working atmosphere, heating cycles, applied load and expected service life when requesting a comparison. Welding, forming and any subsequent heat treatment also influence the material review. A room-temperature tensile value alone does not determine suitability for prolonged service in thermal equipment.

Plan processing before placing the order

Tell us whether the material will be slit, cut to length, formed or welded. Include edge quality, dimensional tolerances, surface protection and marking requirements. For parts made from several sheets or plates, state whether heat traceability must be maintained through cutting and packing. We can then review the supply request with the relevant mill documentation and an agreed inspection basis.
