Sheye Metal offers 309S stainless steel plate through a hot-rolled coil-cut route and a quarto route. Specify the production route if it is defined by your project. Each route has a separate dimensional range, so provide the delivered thickness, width and length before the proposed supply is reviewed.
Confirm the applicable specification
Include the complete material standard and edition required for the order, together with the delivery condition and certificate requirements. The surface basis is NO.1 or 1D. If the plate will be cut into components, distinguish the purchased plate dimensions from the finished part sizes and state any allowance or edge requirements.
Agree inspection for delivery
Define dimensional tolerances, flatness and surface acceptance alongside the required material identification and documentation. Any supplementary tests or application-specific purchasing requirements should be included during quotation. List quantities by size and agree packaging and handling around the proposed plates. Final confirmation should keep the production route and certification basis clear for each order item.

309S plate: questions for loaded and welded components
How should a loaded 309S plate component be specified?
Give the designer the operating metal temperature, load, service duration and allowable deformation. An oxidation rating and room-temperature tensile test do not establish acceptable creep performance. Once the design material is selected, align the plate order with its required grade, condition, dimensions and inspection requirements. Any change to a higher-carbon variant or another heat-resistant grade should follow the design assessment.
What should be agreed before welding 309S plate into an assembly?
Identify the adjoining materials, joint geometry, restraint and service conditions so that the fabricator can select a suitable filler and welding procedure. Do not assume that the 309L consumable commonly associated with some dissimilar joints is automatically correct for the assembly. Define any project-specific examination and material requirements before purchasing, particularly where the component carries load at elevated temperature.
