What should be reviewed before slitting or leveling 2507 coil?
The processor needs the actual supplied condition, strength basis and dimensions, together with the intended slit widths or finished blanks. Super duplex strength affects equipment capacity and the processing setup; a route used for a softer austenitic coil should not be assumed suitable without review. Define edge, flatness and surface requirements as part of the order, and retain the parent heat identity on the resulting material.
Can a published PREN guarantee for 2507 tube be used to accept a coil?
No. The coil must meet the product standard and any additional requirements actually agreed for that coil. A steelmaker’s branded seamless-tube PRE guarantee is not automatically a requirement or guarantee for flat-rolled material. Review the complete heat analysis, including any composition formula specified by the order, and link any additional microstructure or corrosion testing to the delivered coil and its condition.
