Sheye Metal offers 321 stainless steel plate cut from hot-rolled coil and as separately rolled quarto plate. State the required route and full material standard in the inquiry. If a project drawing specifies the product form or delivery condition, include that requirement so the proposed supply can be reviewed before ordering.
Plan cutting and surface condition
Give the delivered thickness, width and length, identifying any allowance for further cutting or machining. NO.1 or 1D is the starting supply surface basis. Requests for an additional finish on coil-cut plate can be reviewed with the dimensions and intended fabrication sequence; quarto dimensions remain a separate supply range.
Specify plate inspection
Include dimensional tolerances, flatness, edge condition and any surface acceptance requirements. State the inspection certificate, material identification and additional tests required by the purchaser. List each size and quantity separately, then agree packaging and destination handling needs. Final confirmation should identify the exact grade, route and delivered plate requirements for every order item.

Buying 321 Plate for Welded Equipment
Why should the 321 plate order name the production route?
Plate cut from hot-rolled coil and separately rolled quarto plate are distinct supply routes. The route, thickness and delivery condition can affect the applicable requirements and the interpretation of test results. State the governing specification, dimensional acceptance and traceability together with the grade. If the design requires 321H or documented dual certification, identify that requirement separately; the 321 name alone is insufficient.
Which inspection details matter for thick welded or hot-service 321 plate?
Connect the material condition to the proposed welding and thermal history. Where stabilization records, impact testing or intergranular-corrosion testing are required by the project, define the method, condition and acceptance criteria before ordering. Pressure-service approval follows the governing design rules and product specification, not a general datasheet temperature. A higher room-temperature strength result does not independently establish creep resistance or qualify the finished welded assembly.
