For cold-rolled widths above 1524 mm, discuss the TISCO mill route, grade and available thickness with Sheye.

BA0, BA1 and BA2 are mill finish descriptions. Confirm the mill code and an agreed surface sample; they are not universal equivalents.

Mill surface codes and decorative finish names are confirmed against the agreed description or sample. Additional processing depends on the grade, thickness and required finish.

Define the sheet specification

Sheye Metal supplies cold-rolled 321 stainless steel sheet. Reference the complete material standard and identify the required certificate and delivery condition in the inquiry. Include any approved drawing or purchasing provisions that determine material acceptance, then state thickness, width, length and quantity for each item to be supplied.

Connect cutting with surface requirements

Describe whether the delivered sheets will be used at full size or cut into smaller blanks. Choose the required mill surface or additional finish, and identify the side and direction to be preserved through handling. Explain any forming or fabrication requirements that affect cutting allowance, edge acceptance or the choice of protective film.

Confirm the delivered condition

Agree dimensional tolerances and flatness requirements before cutting is arranged. Include material identification, documentation and the packaging needed for receipt and storage at your facility. Where several sizes or finishes are requested, keep them separate in the order schedule so that each product combination and its inspection requirements can be confirmed clearly.

Buying 321 Sheet for Fabricated Parts

How should a polished or appearance-critical 321 sheet be ordered?

Agree the required surface and a representative acceptance sample instead of assuming a finish name guarantees a flawless decorative result. Titanium-bearing particles can make consistent polishing more demanding, so the functional face, inspection criteria and later processing should be clear. This does not make every polished 321 sheet unsuitable. It means the appearance requirement should be evaluated alongside the technical reason for selecting the stabilized grade.

What should be considered before forming and welding 321 sheet?

The supplied condition, part geometry and forming sequence influence fit-up and the subsequent welding operation. Titanium stabilization reduces sensitization risk but does not replace a suitable welding procedure. State the intended service, the joining process and any required post-fabrication surface or heat treatment. If corrosion testing is part of acceptance, define the specimen condition and test method so that the evidence relates to the intended component.
