Sheye Metal supplied 430 BA 0.28mm thick stainless steel coil to a customer in Brazil in a nominal size of 0.28 × 1000 mm × C. Before shipment, our team checked the thickness, width, alloy identity and visible surface condition. The photographs below record those checks on the finished material.

At this thin gauge, surface protection deserves as much attention as the ordered dimensions. The bright finish readily shows handling marks, so clean interleaving paper and firm support at the coil centre are part of the supply specification.

430 BA stainless steel coil 0.28 × 1000 mm: order details

Brazil order specification
Item Requirement
Grade and finish 430 stainless steel, BA (bright annealed)
Nominal thickness 0.28 mm
Nominal width 1000 mm
Product form Coil; C denotes coil form rather than a fixed cut length
Core and inside diameter Thick cardboard core, 508 mm coil ID
Surface protection New paper interleaving
Customer destination Brazil

The specification may also be written as 430 BA 0.28x1000mmxC stainless steel coil (often shortened to 430 SS coil). Coil weight, outside diameter and winding requirements should be stated separately so the material fits the customer’s handling and production equipment.

Pre-shipment thickness, width and PMI checks

Thickness and width

The three supplied micrometer photographs show 0.278 mm, 0.278 mm and 0.274 mm. Two examples are reproduced below. These are point readings on material ordered at a nominal 0.28 mm thickness. Acceptance depends on the agreed tolerance and measurement procedure; the photographs do not establish the thickness variation over the full coil.

The first photographed micrometer point reads 0.278 mm.
Digital micrometer held at the thin coil edge displaying a local thickness of 0.274 mm.
The third photographed micrometer point reads 0.274 mm.

The width photographs show a tape measurement across the strip and a close-up at the edge. Our team compares the measurement with the ordered 1000 mm width and agreed tolerance before shipment.

Alloy identification and visual inspection

The handheld PMI display identifies the material as 430 and shows chromium at 16.02% at the tested location. PMI helps screen for material mix-ups. It is used alongside material identification and the order documents.

Handheld analyzer screen identifying 430 and displaying chromium at 16.02 percent, with nickel marked ND.
The photographed PMI screen identifies 430 and displays Cr 16.02%. Nickel is reported as ND, meaning not detected under this measurement condition.

The displayed values are spot-test readings, not certified heat-analysis results. Handheld XRF cannot measure carbon, and a grade match on the screen does not establish every chemical or mechanical requirement. Evident explains this limitation of handheld XRF.

Visual inspection checks the exposed bright surface for scratches, indentations and other visible handling marks. Thickness, width, PMI and appearance form the inspection scope described for this order. See how these checks fit into Sheye Metal’s quality and delivery process.

New interleaving paper and a 508 mm cardboard core

The reflective surface of 0.28 mm 430 BA coil needs protection while it is wound and handled. Paper between the turns helps prevent direct rubbing between adjacent layers. Sheye Metal uses new interleaving paper to reduce the risk of debris from untreated reused paper being pressed into the surface.

A thick cardboard core supports the inner turns of this 508 mm ID coil. For other orders, Sheye Metal can arrange 508 mm or 610 mm inside diameters to suit the customer’s equipment. The selected core, coil weight, outside diameter and winding arrangement are confirmed together.

If narrower strip is required, include the finished widths, edge requirements and recoiled ID in the enquiry. Our slitting service reviews the material and finished dimensions before selecting the processing route. Clean paper and careful handling remain necessary through subsequent fabrication.

Where thin 430 BA coil is useful

430 is a magnetic, ferritic stainless steel. Compared with common austenitic grades such as 304, it has lower thermal expansion and higher thermal conductivity. BA processing produces a smooth, bright, reflective surface, useful where appearance matters. It is a different finish from mechanically polished No.8 mirror material; optical quality and reflectance should be agreed for the application. See worldstainless’s guide to surface finishes.

For 0.28 mm 430 BA coil, suitable starting points include lightly formed appliance trim, supported decorative facings, small covers, labels and display components. Lighting reflectors may also use bright stainless steel, but the required reflectance and optical performance need testing against the finished part specification.

Grade suitability and thickness suitability are separate decisions. A 0.28 mm strip may need backing or formed ribs for stiffness. Large appliance doors, cookware, sinks and wet-service components require their own assessment of thickness, strength, corrosion exposure and manufacturing method.

430 generally suits mild indoor exposure. Repeated wetting, chlorides and aggressive cleaners need closer material selection. For bending, stamping or drawing, trial parts help assess tooling, surface marking and ridging. Thin strip also needs careful support to avoid creases during handling. The manufacturer’s 430 grade guidance provides further detail on properties and fabrication.

430 BA coil sourcing from TISCO, Baoxin and Yongjin

As a 430 BA 0.28mm thick stainless steel coil supplier in China, Sheye Metal combines material sourcing with processing and shipment preparation. We source 430 BA from TISCO, Baoxin and Yongjin. The mills manufacture the base material; Sheye Metal coordinates the supply and processing requirements for each order.

430 BA sourcing ranges offered through Sheye Metal
Mill source Thickness up to Width up to
TISCO 1.5 mm 1500 mm
Yongjin 1.5 mm 1250 mm
Baoxin 2.0 mm 1250 mm

These are supply ranges offered by Sheye Metal. The maximum thickness and maximum width are separate limits and are not automatically available together. The exact thickness and width combination, mill source and stock allocation are confirmed for each enquiry. This channel mix supports 430 BA supply up to 2.0 mm thick.

Is 430 BA stainless steel coil 0.28mm thick in stock?

Sheye Metal maintains 430 BA stock and established supply channels. Send the required quantity and width so our team can confirm available 0.28 mm material, the mill source and delivery timing. Other gauges and finishes are covered in our 430 stainless steel coil range.

Request 430 BA 0.28 mm coil for your production line

For a quotation, send the nominal thickness and tolerance, finished width, quantity, destination port and required delivery date. Include the preferred mill, surface acceptance criteria, paper or film requirements, 508 mm or 610 mm coil ID, coil weight and outside-diameter limits. A drawing or formed sample is helpful when surface appearance after fabrication is critical.
