Sheye Metal supplies hot-rolled 310S stainless steel coil. Identify the complete standard and grade designation required by the project, including the specified delivery condition. Where an approved drawing or purchasing document controls acceptance, send its material requirements with the inquiry so the proposed supply can be reviewed against them.
Choose coil or cut material
The coil route uses a NO.1 or 1D surface basis. State whether you will receive the coil for further processing or require plates cut from it before delivery. Plate length and flatness requirements belong to the cut product specification; coil weight, inside diameter and winding requirements belong to the coil supply arrangement.
Set acceptance requirements
Provide thickness, width, quantity and the inspection documentation needed at receipt. Explain any downstream cutting or fabrication requirements that affect the delivered edges and surface condition. Agree the exact dimension combination, identification and packing before purchase. Keep any additional testing or project-specific criteria explicit in the order rather than assuming them from the grade name.

What should a coil inquiry include for formed 310S components?
Include the required dimensions, tolerances, surface and edge criteria together with the component drawing and forming route. The starting material requirements should support the fabrication process, while the operating temperature, atmosphere and cycling determine whether 310S is appropriate for the finished part. For demanding shapes, agree the forming and inspection criteria with the fabricator. The material’s heat resistance does not itself establish a guaranteed forming result.
Is a coil described as 25/20 or 2520 enough to establish 310S compliance?
Those expressions identify an alloy family in commercial discussion; they do not replace a material standard or certificate. Specify 310S and the applicable product standard, grade designation and delivery condition. The certificate should link the coil to its heat analysis and required test results. If a project calls for 310H or dual certification, write that requirement explicitly rather than inferring it from the chromium-nickel shorthand.
