BA0, BA1 and BA2 are mill finish descriptions. Confirm the mill code and an agreed surface sample; they are not universal equivalents.
Mill surface codes and decorative finish names are confirmed against the agreed description or sample. Additional processing depends on the grade, thickness and required finish.

Sheye Metal is a first-tier TISCO distributor with around 10,000 tonnes of stainless steel inventory across our product range. Our mother-coil stock supports different sheet widths and cut lengths, giving buyers more choice than a fixed list of finished sheets.

These are finished sheet sizes. We select the mother-coil width and cut length for the order. If your drawing uses inches or gauge, include those units; we will agree the thickness and dimensional tolerances before processing.

Cold-rolled options from 0.3 to 8.0 mm
Alongside the regular 0.3–3.0 mm range, Sheye offers thicker cold-rolled material from 3.0–8.0 mm, including 6–8 mm options through our TISCO supply channel. This gives buyers a route to thicker material when a cold-rolled surface is required.
Confirm the thickness, width and finish together. Decorative polishing is reviewed separately from the mill-finish supply range.

Choose the surface for your next process
304L 2B Stainless Steel Sheet
2B is a smooth, lightly reflective mill finish. It is a practical starting point for formed parts, welded equipment and sheets that will receive further finishing. We can supply it with the agreed protective film or without film.
304L NO.4 Stainless Steel Sheet
Also described as 304L #4 Stainless Steel Sheet, this finish has a directional polished grain. It is often chosen for visible panels and fabricated equipment. Agree the appearance sample, grain direction and whether one or both sides need polishing.
HL and other finishes
HL, or hairline, has a long directional grain. It is a separate appearance choice from No.4. Tell us which face will be visible and how adjoining panels should match.

Film thickness is separate from steel thickness. A general protective film should not be assumed suitable for laser cutting. Tell us your cutting method so the film can be selected with the order.

Real measurements, linked to the material
Our workshop photos show how we check sheets during preparation: identify the grade and heat marking, measure thickness at different positions, and check width and length. Surface appearance and film requirements are considered alongside dimensions.
The examples below show thickness checks on nominal 0.4 mm and 2.0 mm 304L 2B sheets. The readings are examples from these sheets; the order specification defines the acceptance limits.

For ASTM orders, specify 304L / UNS S30403 to ASTM A240/A240M and the required edition. Agree dimensions and tolerances using the applicable ASTM A480/A480M requirements and any additional purchase requirements. Request the mill test certificate and the material identification needed for your receiving checks.
Origin options and bonded processing
Sheye can arrange bonded processing for stainless steel originating in Indonesia, Vietnam and other countries, alongside Chinese-origin supply. This allows buyers to discuss material origin and processing requirements together.
State the required origin and delivery country in your enquiry. The quotation should identify the selected supply route and required origin documents.
Before you order
Why choose 304L for welded parts?
304L is the low-carbon version of 304. Its lower carbon content helps reduce the risk of intergranular corrosion after welding. The grade remains a choice for the actual service conditions; it is not a general upgrade for saltwater exposure. See our 304L material guide for grade and fabrication details.
What does 16GA mean when ordering sheet?
For gauge orders, we agree the gauge system, nominal thickness and tolerance before processing. The Canada-order example is marked 16GA and 48 × 120 inches. Keep the original units on your enquiry or drawing.
Can you supply a different size or finish combination?
Yes—send the requested combination for review. Mother-coil stock, cutting and surface processing provide flexibility, while availability depends on the specific thickness, width, finish and quantity.
