BA0, BA1 and BA2 are mill finish descriptions. Confirm the mill code and an agreed surface sample; they are not universal equivalents.

Specify the exact 304 material standard your project requires. A familiar grade name does not replace the dimensional, surface and inspection details needed for an order.
Define the delivered sheet size and how it will be handled after unpacking. Thickness, width, length, flatness and protective film should be considered together with the cutting and fabrication plan.

Provide the grade designation, applicable standard and documentation required for your purchasing file.
Protect the sheet through fabrication
Identify which side will be visible, the film required and whether paper interleaving is needed. Include any downstream cutting or forming steps so handling and protection can be reviewed.

304 sheet: appearance and service questions
How should I specify 304 sheet for a visible finished surface?
Combine the finish designation with the intended appearance, grain direction and inspection expectations. Polished, brushed and mirror surfaces serve different visual requirements, and finish names do not guarantee identical appearance across every producer. Explain whether the sheet will be bent, cut or welded before final finishing, so surface protection and post-fabrication treatment can be considered together. If cleanability is important, specify the relevant roughness requirement separately rather than relying only on a decorative finish name.
Is 304 sheet a suitable choice for coastal cladding?
Its suitability depends on salt exposure, rain washing, sheltered areas, surface condition and the acceptable level of staining. Genuine 304 can discolor or suffer localized attack in marine conditions. A shiny finish does not remove that limitation. For a coastal project, compare 316L or a more resistant alloy using the actual exposure and maintenance plan, and review crevices and drainage in the panel design. Avoid a fixed service-life promise based only on distance from the shoreline.
